Led Zepplin Logo

In 1968, a rock band called Led Zeppelin was introduced and became one of the greatest bands in the history of music industry.  They sold over 300 million albums and have influenced rock band lovers across the world. Guitarist Jimmy Page started the band and was joined by Robert Plant who played as the lead vocalist, along with talented John Paul Jones who played the bass and keyboard, as well as John Bonham on drums and percussions.

In 1973, Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis designed the logo for Led Zeppelin. It was originally made as part of an art cover for the Houses of the Holy, the band’s fifth album. Its classic logo signifies the band’s brilliant artistry, gloriousness and distinct music.

Later in 1974, they launched Swan Song Records as their own record label. American artist William Rimmer’s painting of the “Evening (Fall of the Day)” is where the band got the inspiration for their famous Swan Song logo.  Apollo, the Greek god of light, music, and healing is shown in the logo, although others would say that it may represent the mythological character of Icarus whose wings melted when he flew too close to the sun.  Unfortunately, the label failed to continue in October 1983 when the band broke up after the death of John Bonham.  Currently, it only reissues previously released songs by artists signed under them.
